Waiting on Backerkit—apologies for a short delay...
over 7 years ago – Thu, Jul 19, 2018 at 02:07:27 AM

Dear MU Scholars,

In our last update we announced we'd have Backerkit go live today (Wed 18th July). We're all set up and good to go, and we actually pushed the button this morning - but rather than have the Pledge Manager go live, we got this message back from Backerkit:

.

Backerkit has recently been upgraded, changing various functions and features. Unfortunately, this expert team review requirement is new since the previous time we set something up in Backerkit, and we were not expecting it.

So our apologies! We were hoping we might hear something from Backerkit by the end of today, but it now looks like it will be another a day or so before the Pledge Manager goes live. Once we have the nod from Backerkit we'll do another update here and send your Backerkit invitations out.

As always, thank you for supporting our Kickstarter

Backerkit pledge manager to be activated on Wednesday 18th July; Our previous Reiner Knizia game gets ENnies noms!
over 7 years ago – Fri, Jul 13, 2018 at 01:40:05 AM

Dear MU scholars,

With a little over 100 Kickstarter surveys yet to be returned (out of 3697), we're poised to activate our pledge manager Backerkit, and will do so on Wednesday 18th July. (If you're one of those one hundred, please do get the survey back before then if you can!)

Backerkit enables us to track and ship what you ordered. Once our pledge manager is active, you'll be able to confirm or change your shipping details, right up to the point we start shipping. You'll also be able to download your chosen PDF reward items, and purchase add-ons.

ENnie Awards Nominations for Chaosium's return to Board Games

The Gen Con EN World RPG Awards (the “ENnies”) are an annual fan-based celebration of excellence in tabletop roleplaying gaming, and the winners are announced at a ceremony at Gen Con.

We couldn't submit Miskatonic University in this year's awards (because it is not out yet). But we did put KHAN OF KHANS up for consideration. This is the Reiner Knizia board game we kickstarted last year, marking Chaosium's return to making board games after nearly a quarter of a century. So we were delighted when the ENnies judging panel nominated Khan of Khans for both BEST FAMILY GAME and BEST RPG ACCESSORY!

The final step of the ENnies is a public vote. If you'd like to vote for Khans of Khans, here's the link to ENnies voting page:

http://www.ennie-awards.com/vote/2018

Susan, Reiner and Ian, who all worked on both Khan of Khans and Miskatonic University, would love your support!

 .

Please also consider voting for the other Chaosium nominations:

BEST ADVENTURE—The Two-Headed Serpent (Pulp Cthulhu)
BEST PRODUCTION VALUES—The Grand Grimoire (Call of Cthulhu)
BEST ART COVER—Down Darker Trails (Call of Cthulhu)
BEST MONSTER/ADVERSARY—Down Darker Trails (Call of Cthulhu)
BEST FREE PRODUCT—RuneQuest Quickstart (RuneQuest)
BEST SUPPLEMENT—Reign of Terror (Call of Cthulhu)

The winners will be announced on Wednesday August 3rd.

Thanks for your support, and kind regards from all the team at Chaosium.

Over 90% of surveys back already - many thanks!
almost 8 years ago – Sun, Jul 01, 2018 at 01:25:34 AM

Dear MU Scholars,

We have already got over 90% of the Kickstarter surveys we sent out on June 20 back already - many thanks!

If you haven't returned your survey yet, can you please do so ASAP.

[If you didn't receive a survey, please check your junk or spam folders. Message us if you still can't find your survey, and we can assist.]

As noted in the earlier update, the key question we ask in the survey is confirmation of your email address. We will import the email address you provide into Backerkit, our chosen fulfilment partner that we're using to manage and send out your rewards.

We are all ready to go in Backerkit but would like to have as many surveys back as possible, as this makes the fulfilment process run so much more smoothly.

As always thank you for supporting our Kickstarter.

Here's your Field Trip reward - 10% off at Chaosium.com for all MU backers

Kickstarter surveys going out; new MU forum at BRP Central
almost 8 years ago – Thu, Jun 21, 2018 at 02:12:59 AM

Dear MU Scholars,

The semester ended some weeks ago, but we at Chaosium have been diligently hard at work, deep in the MU library stacks getting things ready for the next stage of this project:

You will shortly be receiving an email from Kickstarter with a short survey. The main purpose of this survey is to verify your email address.

We'll be managing and sending out the rewards for MU via Backerkit, our chosen fulfilment partner. Backerkit enables us to track and ship what you ordered.

Once we have got the Kickstarter surveys back, we'll then be sending out email invitations to everyone from BackerKit.

Once you're signed up in Backerkit you will be able to:

  • Download your chosen PDF reward items (diplomas, grad student forms, the MU short story).
  • Purchase add-ons, including extra copies of the game, and copies of Khan of Khans, our previous Reiner Knizia game.
  • Confirm or change your shipping details.

Once we have email addresses confirmed we'll also start sending out the Framed Diplomas and Name Plaques to the backers that have them in their rewards package.

Field Trip Reward

We haven't forgotten the "Field Trip" 10% discount coupon Stretch Goal reward — in our next update, we'll provide details on how you can claim that at Chaosium.com (hey, just in time for the release of Masks of Nyarlathotep, if you're also a Call of Cthulhu RPG fan).

MU Forum at BRP Central

We have set up a Miskatonic University: The Restricted Collection forum at BRP Central - the Chaosium Forums. While we will always provide updates via Kickstarter first, if you have any questions you are welcome to ask them in this new forum, along with exchanging game-play strategies, forbidden wisdom from the library, and anything else related to the game. We at Chaosium will post there frequently.

As always, thank you for supporting this project.
